You certainly own leather shoes. Probably canvas and suede models, too. If you’re into sneakers you might also have a pair of perforated, patent or crocodile leather ones, or even high-end or transparent plastic ones. But you haven’t got a pair of cardboard shoes, do you?

US artist Mike Leavitt, hailing from Seattle, produced replicas of various sneakers -- such as the adidas Gazelle, the Converse All Star, and the Nike Jordan IV - in cut, glued, ink and oil-stained cardboard. Besides the sneakers, Leavitt’s “Hip Hopjects” collection contains wooden Nintendo controllers, brick mobile phones and oak iPods. Check it out on his website.
